Livia's Best Turkey Brine Livia’s Best Turkey Brine Recipe seasons up to an 18 pound turkeyIngredients• 4 quarts water• 1 cup Livia’s Seasoning Salt• 3 cinnamon sticks• 8 bay leaves• 1 cup brown sugar• 2 sprigs fresh thyme (optional)• 1 fresh or thawed turkey (allow one day in the refrigerator for each 4-5 lbs. of weight)PreparationCombine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature before using or transferring to the fridge.Submerge the turkey in brine, ensuring the cavity is filled. Put it in the fridge overnight for about 8-9 hours. Remove turkey from the brine, rinse and then pat dry.
